Working Creatively From Home

No matter what the climate, being creative and staying inspired on the regular can be tough, especially whilst working from home! But we want you to know that you’re not alone in trying to keep motivated. We’ve put together a list of our best tips on how to keep busy and stay creative, ensuring your projects keep moving, below.

You can find a variety of presets, expertly developed by professional videographers and photographers by following this link:

Learn New Skills

We don’t always have time to push ourselves to learn and develop but it’s important to stay ahead of the game and increase your worth. Set yourself a challenge to learn new skills and get the sense of achievement you’ve been looking for. For example, we’ve recently been learning how to use aftereffects, which you can use to create cool titles.

You can even start your own Shopify store and sell digital products using this digital downloads app.

Alternatively, you could load Davinci Resolve and learn how to colour grade to the level used in feature films. There is a great colour grading tutorial here:

Master Your Editing Program

Learning how to do stylish effects on your videos using the effects that are in-built in your editing program is a great way to produce high quality work. There are so many options and things you can try!

You can experiment with your transition styles and techniques. For example, you can use the blur effect as a transition from one scene to another. You can set keyframes and create an animation of effects inside most editing programs. Spend some time trying out different effects, make the most of your editing program and enhance your skills while your'e at it.

Memories Video

During your hectic schedule of everyday life our personal pursuits can often get pushed to the wayside. Very often we put off personal projects and edits, so now is the perfect time to do what you’ve been putting off! Whether it be your home videos, that short film you’ve always wanted to make or even editing your summer holiday pics! Make sure it’s something that brings back good memories or is a keen interest of yours and you’ll soon find your creative spark again. We like the idea of creating a lifestyle or memories video using all the spare footage you’ve gathered over the years.

Update Your Social Media

In our rush to get our work out there, we can forget to think about the aesthetic of our Instagram feed. You can create a plan on your Instagram feed for how you want it to look, plan out your posts and remove some of the clutter. Having a good social media presence is vital to showcasing your work!

Once your social media game is on point you can sign up to influencer sites to do sponsored posts. This is a great way to bring in revenue if you have engagement with your posts. A lot of companies are looking for micro-influencers with around 15k followers to promote their products and brand. We highly recommend doing this if you fit the criteria. A great site to link you with brands is: www.sweetpsocial.com
